An Environmental Action Assessment Scaffold

1.
What causes the problem?
Co2gas being released into the atmosphere
by humans causing the atmosphere to heat up.
Combustion of fuels is causing the
problem because it is releasing lots of fuel.
(a)
What are the chemical
processes (reactions)
1st reaction:
complete
Fuel+ - H2O + CO2
2nd reaction:
Incomplete
Fuel + O2 - Callon Soot + H2O

3rd reaction:
Acid + Carbonate - metal salt + H2O + CO2
2.
Why is this a problem for
io;]humans & the planet?
Problem for humans:almost all of the shellfish
we eat are going to be badly impacted by ocean
acidification, they are all at risk because of the
fact that they will not be able to build sturdy shells.

Problem for planet:
The oceans are a big part of the carbon cycle,
by absorbing CO2 from the top layers and moving them
to the ocean beds for storage, This can happen by the
phytoplankton taking in the CO2and sunlight to
make O2 and Carbohydrates.

3.
What is the current state of the problem?
Corals are bleaching.

Climate change is badly impacting sea levels and the temperature of the sea

Shellfish will not be able to build sturdy shells.
4.
(a)
What practical action do you propose to address this problem?
Planting trees because Photosynthesis sucks the carbon dioxide out of the air.

Bike instead of driving cars

buying local food with labels , because buying from overseas means they have to transport it.

Insulating homes so we reduce the amount of power.
